Spring color inspiration board #2

Color: Fuchsia and lime green make a great combination especially for an outdoor garden wedding. Because both colors are very bright and strong, brides should be careful spreading these colors around throughout their wedding. Use one color as the main focal point and the other color in minimal accents. Combined in the right way, you have a palette that is fun, unique and great for Spring!

Spring color inspiration board #1

Colors: Navy and Peach. A bright and fun color like peach adds a very soft and feminine touch to the bold and classic navy blue. The board provides a very country, vintage and rustic feeling.

Valentine's Day is right around the corner! Are you GUYS ready and prepared to pop the question?

If not, I have the last minutes guide to help you pick the perfect ring and get ready!
engagement ring
I recently asked my friend who is in the jewelery industry on how to find the perfect ring/diamond. She gave me a site to look for, and oh boy! There are a lot to learn from picking the perfect diamond!

First of all, you need to know your budget (how much should you spend on the ring). Then choose the ring she'll love. After that, choose the right diamond with the perfect color and shape. Then you will have to choose the right jeweler and then the pop the question.

A lot involvement before the proposal right? It's a bit rush if you are still choosing the ONE ring! But take a look at this website: Blue Nile to learn more about choosing the perfect ring and that she will say 'YES"!

If you want to do something non-tradition, how about something like the gorgeous Kate Middleton's engagement ring.

Good luck on shopping and The Proposal! =)

Inspired Wednesday

After spending the last 14 years with my Valentine, I figured I’d share some of the most romantic and beautiful (not to mention within budget) places we’ve been to. With 2 young kids, a mini vacation and budget friendly getaway is a MUST. For Valentines Day it’s a special treat, because all of these places have special packages to share with that romantic interest in your life.

Five romantic destinations/places to stay for a Valentines Day getaway…where you can even pop the question. *Hint hint*

Avia Hotels Napa. For those that want to stay close to the Bay Area, Napa is the place to go. For someone that’s never been to Napa before, the concierge at Avia was excellent at directing my husband and I on where to go, drink and dine. The hotel itself was a very modern and sheek boutique hotel. Take a stroll through the property and you’ll find beautiful nooks to have a seat with your loved one, share a bottle of wine and whisper sweet words to each other….very romantic. Don’t forget to stop by V. Sattui for the best wine tasting experience in Northern California and eat at Redd’s.

Estancia La Jolla Hotel and Spa
. I love going down south and La Jolla is just 15 – 20 minutes away from Downtown San Diego. It’s a very relaxing oasis away from the hustle and bustle of a downtown vibe. For the couple whose idea of romance is relaxation, this is where to go. They have a beautiful pool, with private cabanas, and a widely acclaimed spa and wellness center.

The Andaz Hotel
(formerly called the Ivy Hotel) San Diego. This hotel is located in the heart of San Diego’s Gaslamp Quarter. For the couple that loves the nightlife and is looking for a hip hotspot and a seductively romantic getaway, this is the hotel for you. The service is impeccable and the ambiance will put you in a romantic Valentine’s mood.

The Inn at the Mavericks at Half Moon Bay. I’ve never been to this place before, but it’s one we will definitely be visiting soon. I got a first-hand thumbs up from my brother and sister-in-law so I wouldn’t doubt that this place is just as amazing as they say. A picturesque view of the ocean as you step out of your door, the smell of the fresh water, and a cool breeze to whisk you away. Sounds like heaven if you ask me. Their webpage says “Simple, elegant tranquility.” This would definitely be a nice, romantic, and relaxing getaway right in the middle of nature.

As you can tell, my husband and I have nothing but the best taste in hotels. We love to spoil ourselves and it’s time to spoil you and your loved one with a romantic getaway. And if you’re thinking of popping the question, go for it! It’s a proposal she’ll never forget in such a picturesque location!

Inspired Wednesday

I recently received a wedding website from my friend who will be getting married this coming July in London. Congratulations to her first of all!! When I look at the domain name, I was surprise that it is made out from Google! I know with Google, you can do a lot of things like calls, different kinds of documents, events...etc. But I didn't know that you can now create your website from Google. So for today, Inspired Wednesday, let's be a little bit of IT. =)

Often time I get clients come to me and say, where and how I can build my own wedding website? For sure, there are a lot of different wedding sites where they included an option for you to build your own website, for example, the Knot, Project Wedding or WeddingWire. However, if you have a gmail account, I think this can be an alternative to create your own personal wedding website by just a few clicks from your email account. With that, it will save you time, and you can actually organize everything from one account. Plus they have pre-created templates that you can choose from. I think it will just make it easier if you are thinking of building your own wedding website. For more information, visit Google Sites.

Or here...take a look at how you can create your own website

Have fun creating your wedding website! =)

As we are approaching the middle of January and going to February, there is another big day coming up that I think a lot of couples need to be prepared especially for the guys! (Of course, I think it is important for those to know if you are thinking of proposing on this special day!) Take a look at the list below to see different number of flower(s) you give would mean.

Interesting Wednesday

The holiday season has finally arrived! I hope you all had a happy thanksgiving and spent some fabulous time with your family~

Once the Thanksgiving departed, everyone is waiting for the next two big holidays to kick in - Christmas and New Year!

For those brides and grooms who are having a Christmas or New Year theme celebration for their wedding, here is some DIY ideas for you to make your escort card more into the theme spirit.

Winter Wedding Escort Card
You may think, well, they are just gift's tag... but it can also be an escort card (or if you are having a place card to tie on with your wedding favors). Be creative and make it fun in your way~

Last year, I had a client who created her wedding theme in mask and ball look and feel, and incorporated the theme into her escort card...

Happy Creating~

Closeness - She wants to be close to you
Openness - She wants you to open up to her
Understanding - Don't try to "fix" her, just listen
Peacemaking - She wants you to say, "I'm sorry"

Esteem - She wants you to honor and cherish her

Agree? =)

Professional Wedding Planner vs. On-site Coordinator

This is one of the must ask questions I received from brides and grooms most of the time. Why do I need a wedding planner if the venue on-site coordinator can do it all?

For most of the brides and grooms as this is their first time experience, they would think since their on-site coordinator can take care of everything from chairs setup for ceremony to pass hors d'oeuvres then food and beverage during reception, why do they still need to hire another wedding planner? Don't they do the same thing?

As a wedding planner, I love working with all venue on-site coordinator! On the day of the wedding day, the venue on-site coordinator take the role to make sure everything goes smooth from the venue side, meaning they make sure everything from venue provide the best as they promised to brides and grooms. And we, as the go to wedding planner, we oversee every aspect for the event from personal assistance to brides and grooms, family and guests, to venue/setup/vendors and more... We, together with the on-site coordinator and all vendors as a team, create memorable and stress-free wedding throughout the planning all the to the wedding day for brides and grooms.

I recently saw a post from a Wedding PR, Leila Khalil, wrote about her experience of having an on-site coordinator to run her friend's wedding, and why she highly recommend brides and grooms to hire a professional wedding planner for their wedding. This is also good to know what people think of this topic, especially from a 3rd person point of view. I highly encourage all of you lovely brides and grooms-to-be to take a few minutes to read the post. I think it would be a great benefit to you all when making decision, and asking questions to your on-site coordinator.

Ice cream for wedding
It's been HOT these days!! Especially the last weekend was over an 100 degrees here in the Northern California. While celebrating a special day of the bride and groom and being hot, I'm sure everyone would love to cool down a bit if ice cream is included on the menu!

I was searching on the web for ice cream catering last night and found that you can actually make ice cream in different styles of spaghetti. With this new idea, if you are a food network fans, you may seen it before. However, as it almost unknown in the US, Spaghetti Ice Cream is a derivation of a traditional European dessert Spaghetti Ice, which is served at many European ice cream shops. Originally it was made only from gelato (Italian-style gourmet ice cream), strawberry sauce and white chocolate. But now we have brought this tradition to rest of the world. Now you can have a Spaghetti Ice Cream made from ice cream or gelato, strawberry sauce and grated white chocolate (or shredded coconut if you prefer), at your next birthday party, wedding or catered event.

See what other styles of spaghetti you can create your ice-cream to...

Check them out and see how you can include this unique idea to your next event!

Interesting Wednesday

I'm sure for some brides; they think the longest of their wedding gown train would look more elegant! I'm up for that! :) How about a wedding gown train that takes about 1.2 miles? You may think, 1.2 miles?? Are you kidding? Nope! A couple in China recently applied to the Guinness World Records with the bride's 1.2 miles / 2 kilometers wedding gown train made with 9,999 silk red roses attached! Very impressive!!

The World Longest Bridal Train
The World Longest Bridal Train
I'm sure they included extra time in the timeline to lay out the whole gown before and after the ceremony...because it took 3 hours to unroll this beautiful train.
